Rant

So its freezing outside. dipping into the single digits. Consistant sub 20 temps. Anyways, I got the CRX out in the street trying to work on it. Guy who had it before me broke a bolt in the Cam cap. He didn't have time to mess with it and I suppose thats why I got it for the price i did. Anyways, I'm thinking. Broken bolt, no problem. First I try the easy way... screw extractor. Obviously that broke. Then I used a dremel to cut a slot in the bolt. Used my full 150lbs of pure inadequateness and a vice grip on the screwdriver handle to try and unscrew it out. Well, that just managed to warp the slot so i couldnt get torque on it anymore. Next I went to the parts store and bought a helicoil kit. Figured, alright this should be easy. I go and get the drill bit which it seems is a pretty rare size locally (21/64) So i find one, and they dont have that size in titanium/cobalt so im stuck with a weaker all purpose bit. So about 30 minutes of drilling, the damn thing is at the same height it was before, but now looks like a shiny little dish. drill bit wont cut into it. Thought it would help to make a pilot hole with a smaller drill bit. No, that wont cut either. I'm so pissed off because all of this could have been prevented if someone bought a damn chiltons and torqued to 20 ft lbs. There is no way this is 20ft lbs, it feels like they used a high psi impact gun. My parents are bitching now because I bought another car that doesn't run and they want it gone, but thats difficult to do if I can't get it running. That bolt is the only thing hindering it, as I've seen the car personally go down the track. I hate dumbass honda owners. end rant.

O btw, dont give me that "who gives a ----" bullshit. Do something useful and instead post up instructions on how to tie a noose, faggots.

Cliffnotes: Super-bolt offers upmost resistance and aggrivates the ---- out of the lil fysh kid.

How to tie a noose is a little beyond you. I'd suggest you eat a tablespoon of Red Devil Lye, but your heritage insists you cram yourself into an oven and huff chlorine fumes.

You know you want to.

next time take the drill bit and bury it in your femur.

---- a cam cap. Who needs that many cam caps anyways? Stick a tack weld on it if you're that worried about it. :1

Sharpen and split point the drill bit. Then, after you get it back, Put some real pressure on it to cut. Pilot holes do help, when the bits are sharp. If you're unsure about how to do this, go to a machine shop and they'll do it for you, usually for free. Left hand drills are also pretty cool.

left hand diamond bit
why do you need to drill it out? cam caps are overrated

You should work on a running engine, prefferably while wearing a lot of jewelry and loose fitting clothes. Cam cap bolts own you. Niglets and tools don't mix. O0

Re: Rant

Buy a real drill bit, use a lubricating oil, and make a jig out of a block of wood that keeps the bit from walking.

When the head broke off the bolt, all the tension is normally relieved. You couldn't thread it out of the head because you couldn't get any friction on it to grab it. Once you get *anything* to bite down onto it'll slip right out.

If the cap gets fubar then grab another off a different head. Any good machinist can massage it so that the cam doesn't bind without a full blown align bore. Honda holds some pretty close tolerances, it won't be off by much.

Aside from the whole blatant anti-semistist deamnor, I'm so glad I voted for you. So, this is the update. I bought a cobalt drill bit and it seems to be doing well, but it appears that the bit started slipping towards the cam. I'd imagine it has something to do with the bit perferring to drill aluminum rather that M8 steel. I went and got some liquid metal filler and refilled the hole. I figure that if I get the hole started in this filler material which I imagine will be easier to drill, I can get a straight hole started earlier and it will stay straight the whole way down. the jig idea is great, I'll use that as well. I just hope I don't ---- up this head too bad D: I know a new one won't be within my budget.

In all seriousness, I have nothing against 95% of American Jews. I only dislike the middleaged ones I've met from the Jersey/NYC area because they are predominantly rude, mannerless curs trying to provoke everyone around them into a a negative reaction so they can act like everyone is against them and fulfill their persecution complex. The local Jewish kids are pretty cool, so are the ones who've relocated here from Cali I've chilled with.

However, this is HMT, bitch, what were you expecting? I'm not going to insult the black man by calling you a ------. :P

Center punches are better than a block of wood :P

Good luck center punching hardened fasteners like Honduh cam cap bolts. Stick to the free online herpes screenings, thanks.
