Radiator support frame???
As you guys know i crashed my Si.
the only part that is smashed framing wise is that beam that holds the hood latch, the radiator on the top with the ac and the headlights. its bent outta wack from the hood pulling it. is that welded on? or can i just bolt that pos off and bolt a new one on. i htought i had bent something from the ripple in the fender however its only like that because the bumper pulled down on the lower bolts and the top mount got yanked in from the hood.. any help? jeff i know you had a wrecked crx maybe you can tell me. its the beam from end to end or fender to fender. where the hood latch goes. thanks.. ricky |
Re:Radiator support frame???
its spot welded in...if its not that bad just tie it to a tree and yank it back

Re:Radiator support frame???
Its welded on, and if its that fucked up, feel free to chop it off and go to the junkyard and chop one off a junkyard car and weld the new one on.
You're doing the bodywork yourself? That's great! |
Re:Radiator support frame???
Why don't you just buy a new aftermarket (screw honda overpriced oem) radiator support frame? I think they're something like 100 bucks (for the none oem of course)?

Re:Radiator support frame???
its only 147 from honda!1
hondaautomotiveparts.com kicks ass i already bought the whole thing and i might attempt doing it myself. i have the welder its just spot welding cant be that bad as long as its all evened out. i can probably do it, AIR tool chisel anyone lol thanks for the help |
Re:Radiator support frame???
you have a spot welding gun?...not like normal welds, it goes right through the two layers, but you can do it the regular way
|
Re:Radiator support frame???
i have a regular tig welder. oh no.....
ah im sure i can rig it on there. i can drill some small holes where the old welds were and just jab the tip of the tig in there. should work. |
Re:Radiator support frame???
bingo...or just butt weld it like my friend did...and hope you dont crash again, lol
