Default radar/laser detectors

Rode in a few cars that have had them and they work alright, but what is everyone else's experiences with them?

piece of *****. mine went off at the same spot in my neighborhood every time i passed with no cops around. it catches a certain frequency that some places just carry even when no cops are around. n i drove passed a construction site n it went off.... no purpose imo

the better they are, the better they can filter out false alarms like that. a lot of stores use an x-band for their motion sensor doors, which will set off radar detectors. mine worked alright, but i knew it'd get me into trouble sooner or later, so i ended up selling it. they can work really well, but sometimes tend to give a false sense of security.

i was looking into getting one and the only one i can see worth spending money on is the valentine one. i have a few dvd's and the guys in them use it and it looks like it works great. the only problem is they are pretty expensive, like $300-400

A neighbor bought one of those expensive "radar jammers". The one that offers to pay your ticket if it doesnt jam the cops radar. We tested it in front of my house... didnt jam ----.

I never drive without one. They've saved my *** hundreds of time. Right now I'm using a Bel 910 (about $90) and it's kick-*** for the money.

really? Friend has one of those cobra's in his prelude and the only time it went off that i have seen is when a cop was directly in front of his car at the kent jack in the box.
