anyone have gauges like these??? When the back light is on they buzz. The longer they are on the longer they buzz. which is why the back light is currently disconnected, driving me NUTS. ANYONE? |
Re: Ractive Gauges...
most people here dont buy those autozone, pep boys gauges and tachs. if anything people use the autometer ones, ofcourse!
|
Re: Ractive Gauges...
they're not pepboys auto zone gauges... :-\
|
Re: Ractive Gauges...
my bad! why do they buzz like that?? i've never heard of that before!?!? :-\ ??? i would probably get annoyed by that too...
|
Re: Ractive Gauges...
our pep boys sells way nicer gauges than that ;)
|
Re: Ractive Gauges...
Ractive gauges= APC= Tenzo= all this ---- is the same. Sometimes you can get away with using tawainese bullshit, but when it comes to accurate gauges, Autometer is the only one to go with. Why do you think they've been around so long? Anything less, is just a buzz!!!! ;D

Re: Ractive Gauges...
yah.. im thinkin of switchin to autometer cobalt series.. blue to match since i have to get then anyways.. (i said that so jeff stays off my back about colour matching)
what guages should I get then.. non turbo, no plans to go turbo either. |
Re: Ractive Gauges...
The thing about those gauges. Is that theyre not even cheap lol. Theyre almost as much as Autometer. Its worth it to dish out the $10 more $ and get them.
|
Re: Ractive Gauges...
you are absolutely right.. problem was. they were a gift from my younger brother. What am I supposed to say? "WTF is this RACTIVE ----"? nah.. just used em. Volt gauge works great, oil pressure bounces around alot at 40+psi but at idle its 100% steady.
Biggest draw back like i said is the loud annoying buzzing, like an electrical buzz. Only when back lit though. |
Re: Ractive Gauges...
They buzz just like the indiglo gauges. It's not the gauges them selves that buzz. There's a power inverter that powers them and it's switching 12volts dc to some higher voltage i'd imagine. That's the noise you're hearing, mainly because they're cheap. It's not so much a buzz but a higher pitched squeel, it's normal.
