Race around australia
My friend is gonna be in this race around australia. I guess its kinda like the Tour De France auto, where they race vintage exotics. He says they're gonna block off the roads, so it's like a race course around the whole continent. Then when they're done ther the car gets shipped to Tasmania, and they race it there. And so that they can get more racers they ship your car for free. Right now the car is in Maui. His dad owns a mercades 300sl gull wing, and that lucky bastard gets to drive it cus his dad's eyesight sucks. I'm not sure of the real name, so if anyone knows post up. I'll see if I can get pics.

The "Variety Bash"...
It's on every year, its pretty tough on the cars, and its primarily a fund-raiser. It's a lot of fun, and is the only time you can bribe the police legally.
Oh yeah, no mods are allowed so any future HMT'ers who were thinking of entering next year probably wouldn't pass the initial inspection..
Bash vehicles are not race or rally cars, they are lovingly restored jalopies in all shapes and sizes from all over the world. They must have been first registered prior to June 1970. They can not be charabancs, motorbikes or motorised wheelbarrows. They must be 2 wheel drive, and they can not have any "go faster" modifications. Improvements may be made in the interests of improved safety, but not for speed.
Some pics.
