no the retainers are still fine and yes it is non-vtak! and it really sucks that it killed my turbo because i was going to reuse that untill i got a bigger turbo on my Z6 build.

Complete and total PREIGNITION destruction!

You obviously had a ton of detonation in that cylinder which led to pre-ignition.

Next time get tuned!

No what happened was the timing belt jumped then the valves hit the piston and the rest happened from there.

Its hard to see from those pics, I looked quick and didnt read the whole thread, but generally when there is a hole in the center of the piston like that, pre-ignition is the cause.
