Quick question

Hey, a slight silly question, but has anyone thought of a twin turbo vtec engine? I haven't seen it done before, probably because the internals might not be handle to handle the extra power or something else.. Could it be possible with a lot of tuning? I'd like to know. :)

It depends on what VTEC engine you're talking about - this would make perfect sense on an NSX or other V6 VTEC application. On a four banger, if you are doing a parallel twin turbo setup, it would be more work than a single turbo, but probably not a significant reduction in spool up time or other benefit.

And any way you slice it, turbocharging a VTEC engine is going to call for a significant amount of tuning if you want it to be reliable.

So having a single or non turbo would be better?

single.

i remember there was a twin turbo d16 on here a few years back.

Does the topic still exist? I'd like to see it

As I stated before, a twin turbo setup on a VTEC V6 would make sense, but not on a four banger. What engine are you asking about? VTEC engines can cover a lot of ground - it's been used on V6s, inline fours, even a couple motorcycle V4 designs.

I'd say a V6. As long as it fit into a civic or something similar.
