Quick and easy headlight clean.
Well the headlights on my Del Sol were hazy and the light output was suffering. So I decided to do a quick clean job. Searched, but didn't see anything posted on it before.
First you need some basic supplies. Toothpaste (make sure it has flouride) and a microfiber or buffing cloth. https://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y2...4/supplied.jpg Next apply a semi thick layer of the tooth paste to your lights. https://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y2...84/applied.jpg Just buff the toothpaste off with some decent pressure and rinse with water. Here is the before and after pics. https://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y2...84/BAp-------- https://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y2.../BAdrivers.jpg |

Re: Quick and easy headlight clean.
Damn! Nice job man.
I have used 1000 grit sandpaper followed by 2000 grit wet sand. Then to finish it off i use rubbing compound and a coat of wax. Your way looked a lot easier. I might have to try it on my wife's integra. |
Re: Quick and easy headlight clean.
How does the light output look after you are done?

Re: Quick and easy headlight clean.
Just did this today so as soon as it gets dark I will check. Mine were bad, the aux lights on my Del Sol were brighter than the low beams :1

Re: Quick and easy headlight clean.
combine that with a buffer wheel and a drill and you'll really have something
|
Re: Quick and easy headlight clean.
Yeah I was scared to use the buffer wheel because I know some will mess up plastic. (my headlights are plastic)

Re: Quick and easy headlight clean.
Checked the light output after it got dark and it is very noticeable. I wish I would have thought to take before pictures of the light output.
