Questions about pistons,

So, I have a Toyota with a 4afe engine. It's a 1.6 liter.

Has a bore of 81mm, stroke of 77mm and a wrist pin size of 18mm. There are no aftermaket pistons made for my car, so I would have to drop down 500 bucks to get a custom setup made by JE... and I don't really want to do that. I was going to go with some B16 pistons, however the wrist pin size is larger by about 3mm, so that's not going to happen.

Knowing that there are many different kinds of people with different kinds of hobbies and cars and what not, do any of you know of anything that will possibly work? If not I'm just going to go with some stock cast pistons, but if there was a "Vitara" type piston out there, I'd be all over it. Thanks guys,

Colin

Any chance you could use supra pistons or anything like that?

i bet you could get your rods bored the extra 3mm bigger to handle those b16 wrist pins

Well, I have the 4afe. Same block (minus oil squirters), but a different, narrow angle head. It makes a lot of torque, but if you want horsepower you gotta port the heads like mad. It held up really well with the T25 I had, until the hose split to the wastegate and I got a nice 19 pounds before I saw and let off. I'm using an MSD BTM and an SAFC with 450's. I want to upgrade to a SMT6/7 soon, we'll see how it goes.

I'll call a machine shop tomorrow about boring out the rods to 21 mm. Hopefully there is enough material.
