Well I have some questions that i am sure i'm gonna get flamed for, but i did do a search.
I found a alfa romeo 1991 164L for around $2,000. Its a straight 6, 3.0L, but 12v. How much of a differance is that 2 valves per cylinder make instead of 4 valves per a cylinder, performance and reliablity wise?
For a bit i want to keep it N/A so I would like to upgrade the piston's if possible. So my question is that, even though the piston isn't made for alfa romeo all i have to find out the size of the piston and i can buy the same size, but with higher compression ratios?
Also it has this ugly red pin stripe on the sides (its a black car) Is there an easy way to get rid of those?

well if the stripe is painted on, then no.
If you want to go FI eventually, then why buy higher compression pistons. It may be a low compression engine, but I am not sure.
You would have to get the measurements of the cylinders and rod lengths to make a set, not all that easy.

on the valve question. heres an easy way to explain it. go to a coffee shop, pick up a coffee stir straw. blow in it. its a bitch and hard huh. now pick up a regular straw. blow through that. ok. so the coffee stir is your 2 valve motor, your regular straw is your 4 valve motor.
ohh yeah, and you want lower compression in a turbo'd vehicle.

Case in point, Civic CX is an 8 valve 4 cylinder. Produces roughly 70 hp. The DX has 16 valves, and a larger intake manifold, not really any other differences. It produces roughly 105 hp. Other makes (Alfa Romeo) are probably similar. If there was a 24v head available for that motor i'd start looking for it, if you're going to buy that car.
