Yeah, I was a bit confused when I was told they were trying to fit the fuse box from some other car in it... I was like, uhm, wtf for?

My visit to the car tomorrow will probably consist of taking inventory, and then telling them to replace vehicle main harness with uncut ST165/162 harness, and then I'll come back and fab an engine harness and an adapter for the ST165 ECU plugs to mate with the ST205 ECU.

It took me 5-6 hours to build the engine harness in the Civic from whole cloth, and that's not only a car I know like the back of my hand but a much easier one to work on. Not only do I lack time + inclination to try and build a whole car harness, but it's frankly a waste of money even if I was being paid McDonalds wages. A 5-9 hour job I can deal with,no biggie, and I don't particularly care if the job is unpleasant... all work is unpleasant. It's a simple fact of life.

Just dont bust your *** over it. That car will still be sitting there next week/month/whatever.
We can discuss more details about this later.

I probably will get bored, give the cell a call (check PMs).

Jim's plenty bright, he's basically me four years ago if I froke out about Toyotas, and I would be less than interested in creating a wiring harness out of thin air after what was in it had been either left to rot, hacked on, or thrown away so it can't be used for future referrence. I think the plan is to use an MR2 harness since they are pretty complete from ECU to engine, and then fix the chassis wiring harness, then tie both together where needed (gauges, rpm feed, etc.).

The only concern I really had was that if in the future for some reason if the car had some issues with electronics/sensors that needed to be diagnoised, that there would be massive headaches involved.

I looked at it afterwork yesterday, and it appears to be pretty straightforward. He did a decent job on it.

I think if they can get that one ghetto *** wheel off, they're gonna bring it out this weekend. Should be interesting.

Haha, there's a hell of a lot of work to get it ready to go out this weekend... they have engine wiring only, and I'm almost positive the rest of the harness is trash (no headlights, cooling fans, etc). Still, I'd like to see it roll if it does, it's a pretty cool car.

I was really close to trading my 86 for a ST165 but needed something with 4dr. But Jesus this car sounds like a rats nest.
