question for people with 'race seats'....

looking to get some seats...well i WILL be buying a seat for my CRX cuz i cant take sitting in that ------ HF seat anymore... anyway looking to get some feedback from people that have FIXED back 'racing' seats in there cars... like Forza/Sprint/Speed/Eco/etc. i would like to know how they are for daily driving. are they comfortable? not that big of a bitch to get into and out of? etc... would just like to hear feedback from people that have them in there cars... thanks :-*

Re:question for people with 'race seats'....

I've got one of the cheap sparcos... it's awesome. I've done 5 hour trips in it and love every minute of it. Fixed back doesn't matter if you install it well. I mounted mine low to lower my weight in the car, that helped a lot too...

Re:question for people with 'race seats'....

I had one but never liked it. It all depends on how you sit in a seat. I slouch a bit so it was uncomfortable for me. I ditched them and got me some del sol seats. 8)

ive sat in corbeau and recaro.

if you're interested in corbeau, email me jason@centerlinemotorsports.com and I will get you a quote.

tell me specifics, what seat, what color, quantity, what sliders you need if any, etc...

include it all in the email and ill pull up the retail prices, take a big chunk out of that, and then send you a quote.

I love my Buddy Club seat. My wife isn't a big fan of driving my car cause of the hassle of getting in and out of the seat but this fucker holds you TIGHT. Literally. I have a 31" inseam and it's tight and my friend couldn't even get in this seat and he's like a 36. The seat is light as hell as in you can pick it up with one finger no joke. Once you've drove in this seat and then go back to stock or even a delsol seat like I was using even that feels like you were sitting in a bench seat. I wanted something different that the usual recaro, corbeau and sparco seats and heard good things about them. If your a bigger guy don't even try since Budy Club must think that all people have small figures like Asian people(not to be stereotyping) but no average size guy(I'm just a little guy at 5'5" with an 31" and about 150lbs) is gonna fit in this seat so look elsewhere like a Sparco sprint or something or hold back from getting super sized next time to McDonalds. lol

I sat in some leather racing seats that had adjustable backs once and they felt damn good. When I get some racing seats I will more than likely go with some like those.

Sorry to jack the thread, but it is on the topic of seat comfort/fit.

So what kind of seat would a fat bastard like myself fit into??

obviously not the buddy club pictured above if 36" waist won't fit at all.

well...the EVO II and Forza II are both made for fat ass's to fit into them ;) i think those are recommended for 34-38"... check there websites for more info....also SCC does a seat comparo every year, they get an ass of every size (30-38 i think) to sit in every seat and rate them, might want to find one of those issues...

Re:question for people with 'race seats'....

That sounds perfect. I am 6'2", with a 38in inseam. So I need a pretty big seat.

^ wow that just shows stillnoturbo's a baller, 350 for a seat :o Funk that, ebay style holmes

Re:question for people with 'race seats'....

Hell yeah! I've got a set too! Still gotta buy side mounts, sliders, floor brackets too since it's just 350 for just the seat and nothing else but it's worth it! I was gonna get sparco sprints but I just don't like the look of them. Mad stunnin' yO 8)

Re:question for people with 'race seats'....

I think that I need a seat custom made. The Forza II's are too big and everything else is too small. The sparco's look nice but are hella expensive.

Anyone here a fat bastard and use a racing seat?

Yeah it's pretty funny, just ask Jeff I can't even see over the dash if I'm not using the cushions... Guess the seats just sit a lil too low for me :(

haha, thats hilarious

Re:question for people with 'race seats'....

Can't you just raise the seat with the side brackets? On my sparco side brackets I'm able to raise and tilt the seat up and down and back and forth. But I think for the sparco and someother seats that don't don't use the side brackets that your just SOL. Break out the phone books to stack up and sit on!

ME! ME!

36" waist, 225 & 6'1". Basically just a descently built guy with a little beer muscle.

I've got a Sparco Sprint mounted straight to the floor and I love it! Some guys don't fit in it, but it's perfect for me. Just go to a shop that has seats on display and try sitting in them, that's what I did until I found some I liked...

I was measuring things up and I laid a SCC magazine on the bottom of the seat and it touched both side to give you an idea of how narrow they are. :o Fat man's misery!
