question for HMT in-house Electricians

Three outlet in my house that shares the same wire is proven short, but apprently the wires are not "feed" throught any hose inside the wall instead, they are all stapled on the beams. How would i go replaceing them other then takeing down the wall or feed external wires on the surface.

thanks :-*

Well youre' not going to replace them without taking down the wall if they're stapled in. You can always put in outlets on your floor and run wire underneath your house. you might stilll put the wire in conduit to help keep mice from eating through.

or just cut out the section of drywall between the studs where the wire is ran, half and half the studs, to still give you a nailer for drywall patching.

I would first try to figure out what caused this "short" all of the sudden. Has anything changed or been done recently?

Drywall damage is fun. >:D

If you're good, you can cut your drywall out perfect and not damage it.. then just put it back in place when you're done working.. it's probably only gonna be a 16" strip unless the layoff is 2'.

You still have to patch it.

Re: question for HMT in-house Electricians

it is actually a playroom and there are no basment, only two wire in the outlet and there are no ground wires. Hot is shot to neutral LOL , the short goes between the first outlet and the breaker. and they are like 20 ft apart and goes throught a wall.
Two outlet are on the same wall about 10 feet apart and the third one is on another corner of the room. I will probly just replace all the wires (they look like ---- and could burn up anytime :1 ) and run them on the edge of the wall....
