question on civic redline limit

Re:question on civic redline limit
No your totally right... however 1 gear at a time... The engineers keep the gear ratios in mind when they design that particular engine. Most vtec engines that are high rpm power are geared short so the car doesnt drop out of vtec and the ideal power band.

Re:question on civic redline limit
Whoa thats weird, Thats pretty high 2. That doesnt make sense though that u drop to 5k automatically.... u can have an engine that rev to 10k, redline might be at 7 but if u go to 10, u better believe ur gonna be higher then 5 in the next gear. Its relative to the speed ur going.

The gsr has 2 vtecs, first one is way below 5k. sohc vtec engages about 5k as well. and depending when u shift, if its high you shouldnt drop out of vtec, ive done several tests like this in my friends car and it does not drop out of vtec

I've never heard of a vtec coming in before 5500rpm's unless the car has an egay chip or something. All of my SOHC Vtec cars have always have a vtec crossover point @5500. Not sure with the B's
