question about FI longevity.

Not to diss the whole turbo your honda thing, but It seems to me that everyone who turbos there D-series always ends up with a messed up engine, like every turboed engine doesn't seem to last long at all. like BBkas engine is fucked I hear, and same with almost everyones, espicially non-built ones? it's not always a rod/ring lands, but sometimes they spin bearings and start knocking and ----.

I know it's all dependent on how much boost, engine management, condtion of the engine, etc. but whats the longest your engine has lasted on boost? lol.

at lower levels these engines can last a very long time.

Mine lasted 5 weeks.I beat on it everyday(That doesn't sound right) ;DThe motor had 210,xxx miles on it and was just asking for a build up.I just see it as a reason to build it up for more boost.

I think alot of it has to do with the fact that most of the peepz boost engines that are already due for a re-build. You'd get a more accurate picture of how much longer a Honda engine lasts with FI if the engine was a COMPLETELY new or a rebuilt engine with few miles on it. Then you'd get a better picture of it.

Re:question about FI longevity.

There is this simple problem in most setups.. It's called "the need for more boost" on a good D-series setup tuned perfectly 8psi should be no problem what so ever for quite a long time. Now 10psi with a person who beats the ---- out of it daily (even if tuned good) its going to have longevity problems. Its all in how you drive and how well its tuned.

BBKA drives his car like a ------- mad man, every stop light he is ripping through the gears. (and I'm not exagerating at all) I mean, I drive my car pretty hard but not like that all the time. He is puffing a little bit of blue smoke right now, nothing to serious yet.

yeah....I decided to pull the MBC out of my integra simply because i'm a boost junkie and get too tempted to just bump it up a bit. then a bit more. then....well you get the point :P

incase you haven't checked the 'for sale' forum, dseries are pretty damn cheap so it's not like you'll be out alot of money.

Honda created the d-series to gernade, they are in mass quantities for cheap so who cares if it blows up.
