Re:question about clutch parts and function
here, I'll help you out, cause I'm not a post ----- and i don't put people down.
check out www.howstuffworks.com for a more detailed explanation.
The clutch disc sits in betweeen the presure plate and the flywheel, the clutch dick is attached to the transmision. so when the pressure plate puts force onto the disc forcing it to stick to the flywheel the transmission resceives powA!. The cluthc fork is what pusshes on the the pressure plate when you depress the clutch, disconnecting the two, alowing the engine the spin freely.

Re:question about clutch parts and function
after market preasure plates have a stronger holding power, and after market cluthc discs have a different material, I dojn't really know why they make them with 6 pucks or whatever, but im sure it's something to do with makeing them hold better
on the clutch disc itself is little springs the cushion the force of engaging, this is a "sprung clutch disc" almost all cars from the factory will have this, smae with most after market kits, if it is market "unsprung" it' doesn't have these springs, which makes it a more rougher solid engagement.
