Hey guys im new to this forum, love the site, well intresting to see what other peeps have done :)

I have a bit of a problem, I dont know whether I should turbo my d15b7 or do a mini-me and then turbo it...

What do ya reckon?

Preferably the cheapest option, as I am a student. I will be doing all the labour myself.

Ummm...the cheapest option would be to boost teh B7. Don't let anybody tell you the B7 sucks or the B7 can't hang. I had a pretty stout B7 that would hang with the best of them. Vtec is overrated anyways. Your motor has two major flaws. Smaller bearings and pencil dick rods. The pencil dick rods will bite you in the ass if you push it too much, but the bearings "shouldn't". Sitkc with what you have. You'll blow it up eventually anyways. :P

you could probably pick up a d16z6 fairly cheap, I would look for one after you roast that motor.

You reckon I could do a turbo build on my b7 for about $1700?

a turbo build? could you define that a bit more?

such as build the engine? you dont want to build a d15, the journals are very small on the crank. Start off with a d16 or even better you could go b-series ;)

Turbo your d15, tune it good and it will last, and you can do a decent turbo setup for around 1000 bucks if not less.

just read up on this site especially in the engine management section (for tuning), and the forced induction section, you'll learn everything you need to know to put a turbo kit together for 1k or less.

sweet as cheers guys, might be a little more than that cos im from the UK so parts are a little more expensive :(
