Putting it in the rear.

:P Well im putting my batt. in the back of my 91 civic, and in which case the tech write-up wont help much. I need to run a kill switch in the rear that will kill the whole car when it is running. Does anyone have some half ass wiring diagram that will show me what wires to splice into and what not. Keep in mind this has to fit within the NHRA rules ... so no short cuts. Thanks!

If you can't make a simple kill switch, maybe you shouldn't attempt to relocate your battery. Keep a camera close by for when you melt all your wiring and possibly burn your car.

thanks in advance :-*

Re: Putting it in the rear.

Umm just extend your positive wire and make a new ground. insert a switch somewhere along your positive wire. How hard is that or do we need to wrap ------- positive cable around your twig neck and pull it as hard as possible at both ends and until your eyeballs popout out of their sockets so you can see us slice the cable and insert a kill switch and just happen to cut your jugular vein in the process. Kill switches not only work on automobiles but people too! Saaweet. :X :X :X

Re: Putting it in the rear.

You're going to need to do the obvious (like stillnotturbo said), but you're also going to need to take the power from the alternator and put that into the kill switch as well. When you simply put the kill on the positive or negative from the battery the car will continue to run when the switch is turned off. Me and Julio were always getting sweated at the races for it.

When you crash, they want to kill it with the kill switch. If you don't get the alternator wire as well, then the car will still run. When the car still runs in the tech line= no race for jooo. (Unless you can get by lying to them and saying you're only gonna run 17's.) haha

id leave the battery up front, the extra 30-40 lbs over the drive wheels is better for traction then sitting in the trunk encouraging weight transfer

Yeah, but when you put it in the back you can register it as a "race car". 8)

Re: Putting it in the rear.

I'm not sure if you just tagged the dizzy wire if it would shut off or run off the battery, but the thing that the track wants to know is that when they hit that switch theres no electric to the car at all. So fires and ---- can't happen after you roll the car into a crowd of people. lol

Re: Putting it in the rear.

the trick is right before tech unplug your alternator, let them kill the car with the switch, then after tech, plug it back in ;)

Re: Putting it in the rear.

When you crash the car and it's still running and they go to flip the switch and the car doesn't turn off and you burn alive is that considered a trick as well? :P
