i've looked high and low, left and right, and keep getting the same stupid answer that makes not sense, since some of you are pretty smart here, in plain english a yes or no answer, does the ps3 80g,run ps2 games, is there any emulator or software required?

 

New ones do not.

Old ones do.

It worked by having the PS2 chipset built in, so no emulating was necessary. I guess they removed it to cut costs.

Or get an older model PS3.

I'm not sure on the specifics of what model does what, I just remember there was a big fuss when backward compatibility was removed from PS3.

 

Nope means you need to buy my 60GB PS3. Used all of maybe a week. Its the OG one so comes with the chip emulation.

 

I can vouch it's barely been used.

 

im probably going to end up buying another ps2 their cheap as hell now, something, like 99$, one more thing, i know you can attach a mouse and keyboard for the xbox 360, but how do you do it?

 

I think you have to buy an additional peripheral.

 

no the 80 gigs and the soon to come out 160gigs will not be backwards compatiable. the older models like the 40 gigs and 60 gigs do however

 

my 80gb plays ps2 games... its one of the older ones that came with motor storm.
