:D I will update this thread as i go. as of now the car sits 90% prepped will be done tomorrow. I'm going rustoleum satin black and will be painting my super jdm mismatched wheels dark blue or black and the crap stock brakes will be gloss black. the ricer that owned the car just went ape ---- with a white spray can on all the suspension ---- when he had the car... ------- idiot...
and yea that turbo is awesome... can't wait to put it on my built motor :) 1300mi na and i'm pretty sure its broke in and ready for + manifold pressure

/edit: also know that i never use the word whip ever and i hate people who do; i just failed horribly at making a funny title for the thread

Don't use satin paint. It's more shiny and it will show up like you used a spray can. That's the great part about FLAT black is that if you do it well, it doesn't look like a spray can job.

Car= flat black
wheels= semi gloss black. ;)

HVLP Gun > rattle can;

2 parts satin paint 1 part acetone reducer (per the cans instructions) + hvlp gun = winner
and i want red or blue wheels; until i can get some slipstreams then i'll be super night rider black

i'm pretty sure $25 paint jobs are function over form to a new level. I wouldn't call that rice.
all the ricers buy HAUS UF KULLERR paint and pay some non-english speaking person who's been painting since they were 8 $10k to paint their PHAT WHIP; thats rice.

Re: Project De-rice: How to paint yo whip JDM flat black in 3 easy steps **PIX**

i'm not trying to be a fad ricer here. If anything flat black is the anti-trend.

the ONLY flat black cars i've seen by me are beater pieces of ---- painted w/ a rattle can that look like trash; and my friends AE86 corolla. We rattle canned that bastard to cover up the rust :-p its now sitting motorless while he cruises his red 86 with a bent rod :-p

I like flat black; i've LIKED flat black for a long time but it only works on some cars. I debated on doing it to the civic but i thought what ht ehell. If i didnt like it i'd do some single stage dark blue ----.

i'm not big on spending money on paint jobs; i just wanted to get rid of that ricer 2 tone bullshit.

oh and the wheels are 2 different types and two different sizes :-/ also not my doing. I'm gunna; get some rota slips soon 4x 15x6.5" flat black :)

/edit: and we got the car painted tonight. Its drying at the moment. Tomorrow i will post quality high-res pics of the car put back together. We still need to paint the bumper and the wing/spoiler thing and paint the wheels/brakes so they dont stand out so much :-/
