Re:Posted my own block!
Well, the block is still sitting. What would you do now? I'll reseal it if I need to. I just wonder what the best way would be now that the jb is on there.
If what your saying is true, that was a really great fucken write-up. :P (Jeff, your fired)lol |
Re:Posted my own block!
Can someone enlighten me as to the benifit of doing this? Also, as to what you did? I looks like you drilled holes in your block then put a screw in it and covered them with JB weld. Is it susposed to strenghten the block?

Re:Posted my own block!
basically, yeah, that's all you do, it gives the sleeves a little extra support. there is a write up in the tech projects page.

Re:Posted my own block!
Talk to my machine shop guy, and he said he doesn't know what temperature jb weld turns to liquid, but if my motor ever hits 600 degrees, I'll have alot of other problems to worry about first. He said I should be fine. ;)

Re:Posted my own block!
Yup if your engine is hitting 600F it would be break before the jbweld got time to drip of

-Chris hahaha, silly rotary guys, you don't have sleeves to support, it's a piston engine thing, you wouldn't understand. I tore apart a rotary last week and put it together today, there are pretty cool. the engine didn't run when I got ahold of hit, and I didn't replace ---- when I took it apart so it definetely won't run now, haha. |
Re:Posted my own block!
if you scroll down, jeff updates with a "dont use jb weld"
anyway, that rtv silicon sealant should do just fine. |
