Portable GPS, who's got one?

I'm looking at portable GPS, mainly to map out trail when going riding. Does anyone have one or what do you think is the best? I was looking at the garmin:

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=&pID=8703

Its cheap and has nothing but great reviews. But than Bushnell came out with this:

http://www.bushnell.com/gps/gps_onix400.cfm

I like that it has satellite imagry, a huge screen and doppler radar but they say reception sucks and you gotta pay a ton of money for the pics.

Also is there any way to download the maps and software for free from somewhere? I mean the mapping software is almost as expensive as the unit but the units are almost worthless without the maps. So anyone got one of these thing?

I had a tomtom and it was a lot better than the nav that came with my car. After ------ around wiht the garmin it's waaayyy better than the tomtom though. Not too sure about the bushnell.

I have an older version of that garmen etrex, my screen isn't color. Its a great unit. I use it for cycling, it works pretty good when your in the open but when you're on tight trail in the trees it sometimes looses reception. Works great in the car if its on the dash. The newer one may get better reception though. You should check out REI or rei.com, if you don't like it they have a %100 guarantee, even if you've used it. They also have good GPS classes.

I've used the TomTom & the Magellon and I like them both. The TomTom is a better product but a little more expensive.
