ninja edit. keep holding on to your unfounded beliefs that BMW is great. BMWs are unreliable overpriced slow peices of junk
that would be awsome if the new m3 even was out yet (i belive that last i read said 3rd 1/4 of 0
also the new m3 is not slow it's faster than that shitmaro convertable (witch is a chick car by the way)
and the bmw m3 engine vs the g8 is like comparing a modern 1k superbike and a decked out harley (but not price wize, the g8 is the harley and the sport bike is the bmw)
you see the m3 has doch 4.0L engine making 100hp per liter (not 62.2hp per liter)
it is a balanced, elegant, monster that is built to go fast now i will admit that, the g8 ran a damn quick 1/4 and is a pretty good looking car (tho the wheels are to big)
but it is a big heavy pushrod family sedan (just like a 283ci impalla was in the 60's just a family car that happened to be pretty peppy)
but gm is using 40year old engine tech (pushrods? c'mon guys, and they just cancled the 330-550hp high feature v8 that was supposed to debut in the new c7 corvette (in sizes from 4.2L-5.4L) so we are stuck with the pushrods for atleast annother 5-6 years from gm
and yes they have the high feature v6 (witch is the most powerful per displacement engine that gm has ever sold (in the cts,and sts with di they make 304hp from 3.6L witch is 84.44hp per liter) but there is only so much you can do with only 304hp
and unless the nex vette will be the size of the solstice and use a high feature v6 then i guess all they can do is use the cts-v's detuned zr1 engine (i think it has 550hp or so) and use that as the base model vette then use the new zr-1's 620hp supercharged 6.2 in the c7 zo6 then take the current zo6's 7.0l 505hp engine and supercharge it and massage it to get atleast 700hp for the next zr1 (if the new one sells decent gm will keep it that is a given, but with 700hp that engine is going to be a grenade)
so it would be 6.2L 550hp (base) 6.2L 620hp (zo6) and 7.0L 700+hp zr1
then they will keep putting the 5.3L v8 in the impalla witch is slow as dog ---- (it would be faster with the 304hp di high feature v6 and the 6 speed auto (because gm is gay and refuzes to sell a real car with a manual tranny) but they won't do that because of all the v8 ******** out there

clift notes: Random strike, you are an idiot just because bmw is not a chevy or american made dose not make it slow
then bla bla bla gm is ------- stupid bla bla i want pizza and a beer

Per motortrend:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...fications.html

12.7@ 111.3 stock. .97 on the skid pad.

However, the g8 will be MUCH cheaper to mod.

I guess if you like low end torque the G8 is for you, but if you like the 8300 redline on the 4.0 v8, then M3 it is.

The cts V is a better comparison (closer in price)

i can half agree with you on that. the new M3 is worthless, if i were to buy a bimmer right now it would be a 335i or 135i.
out of the box they are a bit sluggish but it doesnt cost much to open those cars up. 300hp/300tq from teh factory is nice but the gearing sucks. and it doesnt matter which german car you talk about they are all going to spend 1/2 to 3/4 of thier life in the shop

the G8 is a nice ride, plenty of go and room for the kids. my mother has owned grand prix's since i can remember, and she like my lil bro's mustang so it shouldnt be hard to convince her to get one, she is due for a new car anyways.

your a moron. and totally clueless.

the G8 has displacement on demand that alone makes it more technological than the motor in the m3

im willing to bet the motor/trans in the G8 is lighter than the motor trans in the m3. -->DOHC<-- = heavy

cool artical. that m3 hasn't came out yet. the "new" one is the one on the streets right now.

looks like the 08 m3 will put up some competition to the new CTS-V
