Thanks for the comments. I used an angle grinder to take off the words...that was the easiest part as the rest was done by hand. I started off using a 180 grit paper to get it all smoothed out. After the 180 I went to 320, 400, 600, started wet sanding with an 800 paper then 1000, and I finished wet sanding with a 1500 paper.

By this time it's pretty shiny but to bring out the bling I used "Mothers" polish and this is what gave me the finish you see in the pics. Mothers polish works awsome at bringing out the shine and protecting the surface. I used it to do the frame on my GSX-R and the endtanks on my CCA intercooler, both lasted well and would only have to be wiped down every now and then

It's not a hard project it just takes a lot of work. Like I said my cars up for the winter and I won't be installing this turbo anytime soon so I just did a bit each night. It makes a good little winter project but you wouldn't really want to do it in the summer when you can be out boosting.

i have never heard of a clearcoat that would stand up to that kind heat, thats like trying to clearcoat a turbo manifold. sure its the cold side but it still gets pretty hot.
