I like the fact that I can get a motor of any kind any time I need it, just one street in gardena has 3 large importers soken is my fav. 4 tracks within a 2 hour drive. Great weather. Trust me I have lived in nor cal/so cal most of my adult life except 2 years in Vegas. I use to be a big time street race guy and would go all the time down to sylmar and down to compton back before fast furious crap killed the scene. Like I said if you go street racing do it with a couple buddies or just a few people and dont the hey lets draw attention to oursleves type of thing. Not to mention street racing here has some serious cars.


California is the birth place of importing racing and when all is said and done will always be where most builders are for that reason. This just doesnt apply to imports domestic cars are under the same laws.

i agree the scene everywhere has gone down hill since that crap came out, it used to be pretty sweet back in oregon, i remember one meet that was setup for longview a couple years ago where at least 200 cars showed, it got broken up pretty quick but it was sweet while it lasted, surpriseingly not many dumbass ricers tryin to show off, some good runs got in, and the cops just came to break it up and didnt even issue any tickets or anything like that

the last one i went to tho was kind of gay, i had my talon and i was mis-shifting like a bitch and it was obvious to anyone, and there were some pretty fast cars there, but no one would run because i was turbo i even offered to run low boost lol

my 510 was the ---- but it was like 32 years old and hard to find parts for, the only thing that saved me on it was that subaru rear ends bolt right up, busted 5 or 6 of em

I was stationed in california for almost 2 years, worst time of my life, I get tickets everyday, and my car does not have any stickers on the outside. I had exhaust, intake, header, nitrous. lowered car, aluminum rims. I was in court twice a month fighting tickets. I was getting tickets for having a b16 swap, my excuse in court was that I bought the car like that in Germany, and that all cars comes with b16 there, that was a month after I was in court for a modified d16z6 with nitrous . I was tired of it, then in barstow we kinda bought the cops, I join a car club called total kaos, we host car shows and donate the money to the police and schools, so whoever have the total kaos skicker was exempt, unless you are really breaking the law.
I dont get it though cali is where all the major comanies for performance parts are, so what is people stop modifying their cars? cali economy would lose some right?
