So, I buy this halfway chopped up 1985 honda 200x 3-wheeler from some dude I just happened to meet at the motorcycle shop, for 20.00. I've pulled the motor with all the electronics still attached. I've also pulled the rear swingarm/axle assembly. I'll be rebuilding the motor and axle at home/work.

But the carburetor thing is what I'm stuck on. I've never dealt with them. The stocker is 24mm. General consensus is 2-5mm bigger is great. So... I ebay it up and find China producing carburetors. They've got some 26mm's going for about 35.00 brand new. Anyone used one?

Everything else is cake, and will just take some time/money. It'll be the first real project with constructing a frame from scratch. Got a cheap bender and a 135mig... Gonna put them to use!

I've worked with a ton of them when I worked at a shop that sold chinaman on-road/off-road equipment. There castings are allright and they do the job, but their internals are ---- (O-rings, float needles, springs ect.). Fortunately they are interchangeable with jap parts.order new ---- through K+L and rebuild it BEFORE you put it into service or it will leak/run like ----. And don't forget to set the float height first.

Edit: a PZF27 is probably the best carb for your setup, they are typicaly matched to 200cc engines.

Random, I was especially wanting you to reply. I understand you have a 200x, among a horde of other toys.

My intentions with this motor is to go 1mm oversize piston, probably the wiseco 10.3:1, and mill the head a little more. I'll port the head, and might upsize the valves, depending on the proximity to the cyl wall/eachother. I'm considering an xr200r camshaft, if I can find one cheap, but go webcam if not. I'll also be using an aftermarket muffler. All this, and to consider using the stock carb seems like a waste. Also the stocker needs a rebuild, and I've never worked on a carb in my life. I'd probably put it back together just fine, but the tuningadjustments afterward would ownzorz me. for the price of a rebuild kit, I can get a new, bigger, chinese carb. Still stick with the stocker?

I guess my idea of a rebuild is a little different than a lot of peoples', lol.

As for pics... Not exactly sure what you want pictures of... This is still the planning stage. But, you know I'll want to show this baby off when it's done! ;) ... in a year or so...

old carbs/new carbs doesn't matter if you can clean it and throw a new needle and seat in.

use the xr200 stuff if you can get it all.

with the cam and carb from the xr200 you'll have a bit more power.
