pipefitters union yea or nay
looking to make more money welding. there is a couple unions closeby that start rokk apps at $15.88/hr after dues/pension/retirement ---- is taken out and that increases 10% each year until i hit five years at which time i become a journetman and i get more benefits and $32/hr or $35/hr shift work with no set raises
or there is a private company that starts @ $18/hr and goes up to $36/hr
which would you go for??

go into the union.
help drive up the price of construction, and bunch of illegal aliens will eventually drive you out of work... not to mention your communist union will donate part of your dues to democrats which will pave the way for illegal aliens to come and take your job

the dues and other frivolous ---- is the only thing i dislike about the union but the job security sounds nice.

Re: pipefitters union yea or nay
the boilermakers were offering us to wave all union joining bullshit+skipping all union BS period (but not advancment beyond welding until you had taken their classes and ----) $75-85k/y that included absolutely ungodly retirement & pensions for anyone that could pass their TIG tubing test. it was an outrageous amount of money, and you only work 2-3 weeks out of every 4, AND draw state unemployment when you're not working.
unions blow ***, but everyone has their price, and that's mine. im going to take their tig test this spring, or next fall when im out of welding classes.

full retirement/pension in 5 years also rocks lol there 401k deal has an astronomical amount of money paid into it too.
i should mention that you need not apply if either heights, or being rappelled into an industrial chimnies/stacks scares you lol
race for tig welding you shouldn't be making at anything less than $25/h.
