Piller Gauge Pod Question
Just got myself a piller gauge pod for a eg hatch. Also got myself two nice looking Ultra Lite Series guages by autometer. Both mechanical gauges. One for boost and the other for oil pressure. My question is, where am I suppose to stick the wires? I mean, how can I hook these things up where you don't have the wires hanging or sticking out everywhere. Can't seem to find a place to stick wires in and out of the engine bay. Someone with knowledge want to share. Thanks

Re: Piller Gauge Pod Question
wtf are you worried about? loose wires are hot.

Re: Piller Gauge Pod Question
cut holes in your a-pillar and run the wires down that, but like spenser said, loose wires are hot, I have to kick all kinds of wires out of the way before I drive my civic, the ladies love it.
I'm also against pillar gauge pods, they scream "look at me, I have gauges, I think I'm fast, steal my car and/or everything in it!!" I'd rather get creative and hide the gauges low or in a vent or something. |
Re: Piller Gauge Pod Question
Gay or not, it's nice to actually be able to SEE your gauges... I ran mine down the pillar and jammed the wires around and under the dash.
Anyway, I have a 95 civic coupe. I used a plug hole in the driver's side firewall. I didn't like the idea of blindly drilling, not know what was on the other side. I just pulled the plug out of the hole and used a screw driver to poke through the foam ---- on the other side. What you see coming out of it is my boost and oil gauge lines. Worked like a charm! http://www.puchare.com/tech/shiftlight/SL09.jpg |
Re: Piller Gauge Pod Question
for the ultimate ricer look change the bulbs in the gauges to red .

Re: Piller Gauge Pod Question
I drilled holes in the pillar behind each gauge and fed them down through the dash... then through the firewall...
Just a tip, I use a metal hanger to stick through the firewall grommet, I then feel for the hanger from the inside, tape the wires to it, and pull it back through... makes it super easy... Oh, and my bulbs are red, they match my dash bulbs... hehe... I'm the ultimate ricer of the year! O0 |
