Re: Pics of my first welds.
Don't do what the welder suggests. When I welded flux, I turn down the wire speed to the point right before your weld jumps back to the tip, and crank the heat.
But then again, at work they always told me I liked to weld hot! |
Re: Pics of my first welds.
not bad, get the gas conversion when you can though, it makes a huge difference

Re: Pics of my first welds.
actually for flux core welds, I think those look pretty sweet. Hell I know you didn't grind it down, so that's OG. And every other flux core welded something looked like absolute ----, I know mine did :-[. I was expecting a whole lot more splatter, but I am pretty impressed with your lack of splatter. Looks good mang, keep it up. :)

Re: Pics of my first welds.
Galvanized sucks to weld and stinks like ---- too.

Re: Pics of my first welds.
You're pretty good *snickers ;D
I found out today that Miller has this cool chart that you can use to diagnose your problems. It has a picture next to the most common problems like low voltage or too high of wire speed. Check it out, that way you can know exactly how to correct yourself. |
Re: Pics of my first welds.
The gas makes welds 900000000 times better. After you get it you'll be embarrassed that you showed us your flux core action. lol.
Trust me, get it. ;) |
Re: Pics of my first welds.
haha thanks guys. Yea, I need a lot mroe practice, but Im gonna do some more random beads on that pipe in the morning before I tackle my exhaust.I'm going to try and find some scrap metal laying around to weld to it and test out teh weld strength...
