it can be done to any escort but its WAY easier to do it to a gt, you'll need a gt parts car pretty much if you wanna do it to any 1.9 escorts.

uses the same stock mounts, stock fwd tranny, harness is cake, only splice like 6 wires (color matching) extended one clip. hardest part as with most turbo setups is the piping.

oh and i payed 900+ship for my motor. they can be had for roughly that price from most jdm motor importers.

I might have to get into this ford crap, it's cheaper.

dude seriously as far as swaps... it is. You could easily have a low 14/high 13 second escort for about 1400ish and it's easy as ---- to get much more power after that by makinf your own turbo upgrade. the motors are good for about 450whp with stock internals.

Any proof of this? Not calling BS here but I'd like to see it. Maybe I should buy my neighbors escort next year after all..

hrm only proof of the top of my head is ric's 'monster miata' that had made 399whp with the stock motor (head and block) he raced it a lot with that setup but blew it when he missed a shift and overrevved. you can even boost the stock i believe 91-92 escort gt motors, they are already tapped for coolant/oil lines. same as my motor but with *i think* 9:1 vs my 8.8:1 and the mazda b6t rods are good for even more hp if you wanna source some of them (usdm/jdm 1.6 323 gtx) its all about the tuning though

also the escort motors are just as strong as the gtx, i'm not sure if escorts came with the oil squirters though. either way besides the pistons the 2 motors are basically the same. and the n/a heads flow much better than the gtx heads. i have an n/a head waiting to be swapped on my egt this winter.
