Default Picked up the September SCC magazine.. disappointed

Had some cool cars and cool swaps, but the times seemed.. off.

1985 Dodge Omni w/ LSD
321 whp
341 lb-ft torque to the wheels
2440 lbs
12.9 on slicks

1989 Mitsubishi Mirage (built 4g63)
411 whp
368 lb-ft torque to the wheels
2480 lbs
13.5

Is it just me or do these guys not seem to know what they're doing or what?

I saw that. They even had an H22 swapped CRX that I thought ran a bit slow. Like low 13's with slicks and nitrous

Yeah, and they spent $8000 on it... That one had 209 hp and 186 lb-ft with nitrous, and ran a 13.5 with slicks and nitrous Blah. I wish we had someone get featured, like BBKA to show you don't need to invest TONS of money to go fast..

I honestly think that ctr98's car (I think that's his name), BBKA or someone making good power/times with a homemade setup could easily be featured in a mag. No doubt about it.

CTR98's car is definitely a good show/go car, and BBKA shows that the D still has some merit. I don't understand how these Honda-Tech Specials get into magazines.

they said the mirage was running the 1/4 on street tires, and had insane wheel hop
the crx was cool and gay at the same time I was impressed at how hasport did such a good job with it but was dissapointed at the money invested.

The talon and mirage times were garbage. All that power and they even trapped low?My friends identical mirage with a 14b ran 12.7@113 on pump off the bottle. He was on a stock longblock and put down 298 hp and 327 torque with a 35 shot. There going to get a ton of mail for that issue.I seriously think my black talon would have walked all the cars in that magazine.

I have a subscription and I have to admit the magazine is finally taking steps in the right direction now that they have a different editor.

That's a good thing.. but these cars had HUGE power, but nothing to get it to the ground? That's just idiotic.
