A friend of mine had this t04e t3/t4 on his stock b16 and was only getting 0.5 psi @ 6500 rpm.. trouble spooling the thing. It's a 50 trim, not sure what the turbine side is but the compressor a/r is .50. Hopefully I won't have any trouble spinning it with my ls motor.

It's in good shape, and I traded my t3 (.63/.60) that was in the same shape (I put a brand new center section on it).

I'm worried about the fact that it's a "t04e" and 50 trim, these are built from left overs from real t3/t4's aren't they? Or did I do good?

NOpe left overs would be...a T4 turbine and a T3 compressor.
I also got a A/R .50 with a 57 trim wheel. Your turbine looks like a A/R .63

 

This might **** you off a bit, but I know where that turbo came from.

I think your friend had some exhaust leaks or wastegate/BOV issues. I have the same turbo.

Doh! I knew it was an ssautochrome turbo for some reason, as soon as I seen the manifold it was bolted to.

Well, it looks in good shape though and I did hear the exhaust leak that he had but wasn't sure where it was comming from. Do you think this turbo will give me any problems? it being a 50 trim wheel (I have no idea what the difference is) from my old turbo.

Maybe that's why he couldn't boost more than .5 psi?
