photoshop help needed

okay i have a question, i have been messing with this picture for a littl ebit but am having no luck. i want to make the lenses chrome but i can't figure out how. anybody have any tips?
here is the picture

like this. or more chrome? i can get it done better but it takes awhile to make the color chanel layers and get the shape right for the light effects.

i just hit it with the chrome filter

just needs a little touchup in the corner where its yellow

turned the detail and smoothness all the way up

doesnt look chrome though, looks rippley.. the real way to do it would be to make an alpha chanel with a gradient fade and use the lighting effects, but i didint do it that way, because i just did a quicky job.
