I'd love to do a "don't do drugs" billboard.

Meaning a $200 fine and misdemeanor charge?

I'm sure he has $200 haha.

$200, 30 day suspended sentence, and for $1500 his lawyer has the record expunged within 30 days. SUCH JUSTICE

That'll teach him!

He shouldn't get charged for anything, IMO, but I guess the state decides it's better to make money from smokers instead of wasting thousands putting them in jail.

SC in general is usually very hard on minor possession, they are kind of ***** like that. Charleston/Columbia have a little metropolitan flavor to them so I guess that's why the typical sentence is milder than what I've previously heard of. Around here, one trip to night court (traffic violation and minor possession central) in ashEVILle lets you know $50 fine and 30 days suspended is what you get for your 5th-6th charge. SUCH JUSTICE.

Here they charge you the fine for possession which is about 150-200, lab fees to prove that your drugs are drugs, which run about 145, then they suspend your license for 6 months. It happened to my friend over .4 grams of pot with no priors. Would have ruined his ---- for a long time if he didn't live within bike riding distance of his work.

So they can charge you for smoking after the fact?, like a photo of you doing it? Is that customary in most jurisdictions.........I could see if a photo taken of someone committing a heinus (sp?) act being persued, but damn, thats fucked....

I could see a possesion charge (not that I support that either) but to ---- with someone after the fact when there were no reported consequences of such act? I just don't get it. We have newly appointed policticians that skipped out on paying taxes, fraudsters, pigman, ect. and yet this story makes the front page with a barney fife nutswinger bragging about how he will persue this?

I hope this is not the shape of whats to come for the masses. Its bad enough that a myspace post or facebook photo will bar you from getting a decent job. I would hate to see a bunch of do-gooder ******** fining/arresting people for harmless illegal acts that are of no consequence....sigh.......

He admitted he did it.

I think that gives them the right to charge him.

If he would have said it's tobacco, I don't think he would have been fined, but everyone would have known he was a liar.
