good beer, cheap, gets you drunk faster than most.

what more do you need, other than a truckbed full of full chested, low fat jailbait?

this isn't light beer you noghole
http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/jacob-b...pilsner/10637/

Ubiquitous pale yellow appearance and head. Sweet and mild corn aroma, tho it says pilsner. First taste has good medium creamy carbonation. Not too offenesive. Very little industrial bitterness building. Friendly and for the most part well behaved. Finish is at times a tad watery. Almost as good as Old German or Schmidt’s. Much better and more refined than city lager or king lager. Could be a good repeatable beer, especially for the price! 33 cents a can. Hey, for the price of gas we may need to sacrifice!

4.7% alcohol by volume, barely more than miller lite versus 5.9 for the beast ice

I really have never had it. Can't say that I mind. There are plenty of good local brews in MN to go along with the national brand swill.

Re: pabst brewing company child brand "jacob best" went out of business!

the skinny is

Jacob Best, Sr. (1786 – 1861) was an American brewer who founded what would later become known as the Pabst Brewing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was born in Hesse-Darmstadt where he learned the trade and ran a small brewery in Mettenheim, Germany, until immigrating to Milwaukee in 1844 to join his sons.

In Milwaukee, Jacob founded a brewery on Chestnut Street Hill called Empire brewery, which he ran with his sons, Phillip, Jacob, Jr., Charles, and Lorenz. Charles and Lorenz soon withdrew from the company, with Charles establishing the Plank Road Brewery (now called Miller Brewing Company). Empire Brewery produced 300 barrels in its first year of operation. The name was changed to Best and Company and became one of the most successful breweries in Milwaukee.

After Jacob, Sr. retired in 1853, Phillip and Jacob, Jr. continued operations as a partnership until eventually falling under the control of Phillip's son-in-law, Captain Frederick Pabst. The brewery was renamed the Pabst Brewing Company in 1889 and remained at the same location along Chestnut Street (now Juneau Avenue) until closure of the complex in 1997.

His great-great-great-granddaughter is actress Caitlin O'Heaney[1]

Jacob Best, Sr. devoted the remainder of his life to local politics. He is buried at Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Economics eventually forced closure of all of Pabst's breweries in 2001, though the transfer of production to the Miller Brewing Company is a continuation of sorts because Miller was founded in the Plank-Road Brewery which had been established by some members of the Best family, just after the original Best brewery was founded.
so jacob best founded pabst brewing company, who founded miller brewing.

shizzam!

why did they drop the price just because the company closed? You would think the stores would want to still make a profit until the ---- was gone
