Paypal and poor shipping?

I know another paypal question, sorry guys.

But I bought some forged pistons and rods couple days ago. Seller shipped fast as hell, took the time to get confirmed signature (probably to cover his ass from a chargeback) but just threw the ---- in a box and sent it without protecting anything. Litterally 4 pistons with rods tied in a grocery store plastic bag dropped into a cardboard box. Who does ---- like this?

There are some nice nicks in the skirts, not that big of a deal and I wouldn't worry about that. But where the valve reliefs break out into the sides of the piston, the shits cracked and bent in slightly. Not sure how big of a deal it is, but for the money spent, I'm pissed.

So what are my options? I assume that paypal won't do ---- cause they were signed for and he probably has confirmation. Is it the same way with the cc? I did the double coverage and paid with my credit card so I wouldn't get burned completely.

I havn't contacted the seller yet cause i'm not sure what my angle should be, I assume he'll ignore me totally though.

No pics yet, they showed up at work but i'll try to take some and get them posted up tonight.

Cliffs: does paypal or credit card have protection for dickhead careless shippers? What can I do?

If you have chase, call them and explain. They will get you your money. If you have a ---- bank, good luck. Paypal is useless in this situation, file a claim just to ---- with him though. Also, file complaint in ebay. If he's big, go to the BBB also.

talk to the seller, then file a complaint. it was negligence on his part shipping them that way. if all else fails, call your card company

---- sorry ass shippers who can't pack!

USPS Priority Flat Rate Box will hold 4 rods and pistons and 3/4's of The Sunday paper. Yes, I overpack, anyone that has bought from me knows that all too well.

But I've NEVER had a complaint about damage in transit. Not even on a 90 lbs tranny going across the USA via FedEx. FedEx Kinkos wanted to see inside my tranny box because they didn't think I packed it well enough. 68 lb tranny, 22 lbs of foam and cardboard. I told them I trust my packing enough that I......thump......pushed the tranny off the counter. Now if they still don't wanna ship it I'll take it to UPS down the street. Never a complaint after that.

Also the counter girl might weigh 105 lbs dripping wet (makes me wet looking at her!) so I'm the nice guy who goes around the counter to set it on the floor :)

What do you want to happen? Do you want a full refund and you return the goods, or do you want a partial refund and keep them, or something else?

Don't bother with paypal. Deal directly with your credit card company if the seller won't take care of things himself.

Agreed.

Contact the seller. Tell him that the items are damaged because of the poor shipping and you no longer want the items. Tell him you want a full refund and you will ship the items back. Tell him he has XX hours/days to respond or you will simply contact your credit card company to get a full refund.

Re: Paypal and poor shipping?

I emailed the guy and he said he would refund me and to send them back. He responded 3 more times so I no longer am afraid of getting screwed which was my main concern and wondered if I had a leg to stand on. But glad to know cc would back me up, thanks guys.

I guess I need to look at them to see if I still want them or not. He said he works at UPS and he didn't pack them so not sure what his deal is.

Word. Complete b20 shortblocks and b series transmissons get heavy but I have my secret packing style. Nothing has shown up damaged yet even with boxes showing up looking like they went through a war zone.

I had a recent ebay/paypal experience...The seller was real cooperative and all the issues were resolved...I guess his feedback of 800, wich is 100% was good after all. I normaly do'nt put 100% stock in feedback, but this guy was a good mother fucker when it came to returning a defective product. Hopefully you delt with a decent seller...good luck.

I got shafted on some coils for my bike, the guy said they were in good condition when I opened the box they were just thrown in there with no packing, in a box 10x as big as the coils, and the boots were dry rotted to hell as well as one of the tabs being bent. I contacted teh guy and he would'nt do anything and would'nt leave feedback till after I did

Anyone deal with Bank of America? I am a fond user of bank of america. I can transfer funds to anyones online account. I have not found one person that I have bought or sold things to that uses this. I dont understand why. Lets create a tipping point on HMT for Bank of America. Someone please take their money out of their shitty ass bank and go to Bank of America and get a Savings Account, and a Checking account. Get save the change. Setup your online account, and your good to go. :6

I would assume it is a lot more secure and a lot easier to get your money back!

even with sig confirmation, you can still dispute with the reaon "item not as describe" , and it should work everytime on everything

Re: Paypal and poor shipping?

Finally got to take a better look at these pistons and one of the ringlands is bitched up. Looks like from while it was running and not from shipping like the other dings. Emailed the seller and said I wanted to take him up on his offer of a refund, now he says to make a claim through ups that they packed them and they had no damage when he sent them :7 I didn't think UPS even packaged things for people, and I know damn well they would've packed them better than they were.

Anyway, I filed a paypal dispute and called my credit card company. How do i go about doing a chargeback? I'll box em up and send them back, I'm not trying to steal them, I just don't want to send em back and then get screwed out of the money and the parts. The chinese chick on the phone said something about a form i needed to fill out and send in, but she also sounded like she was clueless and guessing.

Re: Paypal and poor shipping?

UPS stores will pack stuff up for an extra fee. Sometimes they do a good job, other times, not so much. My cousin happens to own one. Shipped a grand father clock, but didn't do anything with the pendulum inside. It was bad news.

Anyway, call the number on your credit card. Say you received items that were not as described and the seller is not willing to refund you your money. Ask to file a charge back claim. They should be able to direct you from there. If someone on the phone doesn't know what they are doing, stop them mid sentence and tell them you need to talk to their superior. Just keep going up the ladder until you get the information you need.
