Default Parts N prices of my setup

OK it seems like its taking forever to finish this project up. I have been checking the site out for what seems like almost a year now( when it was running) I have learned many new things and have been told what not to do... but ---- you cant learn if you dont try... but anyways i just thought i would share some pics and prices and where to get ----... this setup will hopefully be on my car by next week.

Start off with an Air Research TB032 Turbo with internal wastegate set at 7psi. I picked this up at a local auto recycling center aka (boneyard) for 90 buxxx.GOt it from a SAAB 9000. Got it with all the fittings oil in/out, oil return flange(for oil pan) and i also got the downpipe adapter. i cleaned it up and gave it a ghetto paintjob... Theres very little shaft play... and there is no end play... thing is theres a small crack on the exhaust housing where the wastgate flap is.. but its typical for an old *** turbo... grinded it smooth and you cant tell its there anymore...

ok well heres the STD manifold... I was just ------- around with it... im gonna port it out some... and paint the ******... and add a heat sheild... I had a bitch of a time finding this thing.. i went to the junkyard every weekend for 2 and a half months... untill i finaly found one just lying in a pile of metal that they put up next to the pay counter for the ---- people dont want... paid 18 bucks for this

OK well heres some pics of the FMIC i got from an AUDI its a good size(thats what the ladies say). I have a body kit on my car and its just the right size on the opening so air will get vented right through it. Got it for 30 buxxx at the boneyard. intercoolers were not on the price list and calling it a radiater would have cost me 60buxxx so i told the guy it was an AC condenser that was 30, took it home and found out there was some oil in there... took it to the DIY car wash and spray engine degreaser in there... and hosed the ---- out of it... its clean as a whistle now... sanded it and sprayed on some high temp aluminum paint on it...

Ok one thing i am not perticularly proud of is this adapter plate... god damn its fucken ugly and i fucked up one of the bolts holes for the turbo side..... but what do i expect for 12 bucks... hopefully ill get a better one machined for 20 next week... this will have to do just to test things out.....

Ok well heres a 2nd gen BOV... i would have opted for a 1st gen... but i couldnt find one at the time.. so i got this one for 10 on DSM trader... i know it sucks but it will do for now... update: I plan to modify it by fitting a bicycle horn on it... hopefully it sounds louder... :this is just for looks as it will not improve nor restrict airflow... hopefully it doesnt end up sounding like a ----- fart

ok on to fuel management... i dont have much money to buy a zdyne ECU or even do a piggy back hack... but i decided to take a risk... ---- it... i got a chip... its based on and tested on the Greddy turbo kit running at 8PSIpicked this up for 20buxxx.. it claims to eliminate the CEL and make the mapsensor read boost up to 11psi "I confused"... but they said the chip should work up to 8psi... i want to drop it down to 5.5psi till i get better fuel management, just to be safe. (9900RPM.... on stock internals.. yeah right)

Hopefullly it works... im running stock injectors... as i want to keep the fuel economy at ok levels so i got a B&M FPR.. wish i could afford at least a VOrtech one... but im on the worlds meanest budget...

I got a boost gauge from my bro for free... he had it lying around...
Im also getting the Air/Fuel ratio gauge and an Oil pressure gauge... air/fuel 52 bucks or something... oil gauge... donated by bro....

I found that summit racing sells gauges really cheap... better than on ebay... and ----...

Im to ghetto to buy a gauge pod so im making mine out of 2in Black PVC pipe and fiberglass... its a perfect fit ... basically just get 3 2in pipe peices... cut them at an angle... remove that plastic peice on the left side.. door pillar or something... get a peice of aluminum foil.. lay it down on the plastic ... cut a strip of fiberglass cloth... lay on the resin... let it dry and i have a mold to work with... then just mold on the PVC pips to the peice... sand till smooth drill holes for cables... and primer black...

Im getting some 2.5in charge pipes bent... and getting a downpipe made at a local muffler shop in tijuana... this weekend... i will post pics and prices....

and the oil lines... cant forget the oil lines gotta go to home depot and swipe the brass fittings...

all in all i wasnt in too much of a hurry to put this together... as it takes time and patience... you cant go about half assing things... cause thats what your gonna get... half assed result (just look at the adapter plate)...

im on a 300 dollar budget and so far so good...

when i do install it.. i will document it and take pics and post it...

if you guys have any questions feel free to ask... dont know everything... but ill tell you what i can...

ok well im off to bed... its 20 in the morn....

man you got some hella deals.
if you wanna clean out that intercooler better, you can bend back the tabs holding the endtanks on and pull off the endtanks and gasket and clean the inside of the endtanks and it will make it easier to get inside all the spaces inside the intercooler.

im kinda nervous about how your pcv gauge pod is gonna look, but who knows.
i think you should have waited a bit longer and gave yourself a bit more of a budget. 300$ is a small budget for fuel upgrades nevermind an entire turbo system, even if it is homemade.

and aside from that fuel pressure regulator you are planning on getting, which you dont even need, you will need an fmu to supply fuel under boost, cause that fpr wont help you if you go over the intended boost level.

looks like a really clean turbo and intercooler, hopefully it works out ok for ya. keep us updated.
