Part one of the swap 99% done, *PICS*

Well today I got the engine ready to pull in prep to put in my new B16a.

This is a pic before I started.

Here it is almost done.

I am just waiting for a friend to bring my hoist back so i can pull it, should be here tomorrow morning.

I am going to be selling this Cam gear and Fuel rail soon so i can replace them on the B.

This is my only problem so far, I cant get the Half shaft out on one side.
http://defaultcrush.com/tcpics/swap/pulling5.jpg

Seems I should be able to just pry and it will pop off...

Anyone have any advice on this? I got the other side off already just by prying but this one doesnt want to come off. any secrets I should know?

I should have the B in by tomorrow night and I will post up pics of the process.

Step one, start it up
Step two, put it in gear
step three, mash the pedal boy!

My axles just popped right out with a little tug, I think I had to rotate it though for it to slide out easy, give it a spin

BTW- Does everyone wear gloves when working on there car? I cant wear gloves at work because I feel they get in the way, but I can never get my hands clean after working on my car, might grab a box, I figured theyd rip to easy

Did you skip over the word selling or something?

Its obvious he has to cut it in 1/2 to make it work on his dohc beast

I had the same problem the last time I did a clutch job on my civic, I just pried, and shook, and it came out.

If its still not out and wont come out just take the axle off the tripot. Cut the metal band and the boot will come right off. You won't be using it anyway so its no big deal.

i dont know they usually just pop out. did you rotate it then try to pop it out again. i usually use the pry bar that comes with a car thats supposed to be used to pop off hub caps. that thing works the best. but that big ass screw driver works too

hah a pickle fork and a quick pry usually works for me. If you have real trouble try using 2 pry bars, one on each side of the inner cv joint
