overtighten nut

Guys I was reinstalling my valve cover on my B18b, and I overtighten the nut to the right of the #1 spark plug, and now all it does is just turn in both directions, the good news is that I have all the other ones on and their perfect, but how do I fix this????

Re:overtighten nut

get a dremel and cut that nut off and then take the valve cover off and take a vice grip and remove the stud and replace the stud and nut.

It happened to me once, I didn't do ----, drove the car for 2 years, and sold it with one of them broken.

if you remove everything and find the threads f'ed up, put a helicoil in it. it's stronger than the original threaded hole (given you install it correctly)

Permatex rocks. If I could, I'd use it for all my gaskets..head..intake manifold, etc.. Hmm....a Permatex head gasket! brb..

Just grind the whole thing off remove the vavle cover and replace the stud and the nut, that stud just unthreads under the valve cover, it screws into a cam cap ;)
