Overheating in the holland tunnel
BLOWS ASS!
I thought I fixed my overheating, replaced HG and got ARP's, got a brand new all aluminum racing rad and a new cap, new thermo and a handjob, and the car drove tits for a few weeks, no boiling over, + drove tits in traffic for like 2 hours in NYC. Then...coming back from brighton beach and heading to hoboken, there was raped traffic to the holland as usual..so I get in there and halfway though...the same creeping tep gauge. I nearly went bat ----, it was at the 3/4th mark for a while, I was reving it up to move the water (no help) and ended up turning it off an sitting then turning back on when moving, no help either...fucing panickign, it iwas inching up, no end in site, claustrophobic snakes on the motha------- plane, and I finally escaped...temp gauge stayed up for a while, then went down and was normal all the way back upstate. ---- ------ CITY. Oh, and some cop hassled me for my radar detector, arent they LEGAL in NY/NJ/PA errywhere else??? And I failed my emmision inspection today, pm me if you can get me an NY sticker, I will pay you well, going away to PA!! for school. |

Re: Overheating in the holland tunnel
not going to run a front plate in PA so I might do that...just throw on cardbord fenders or something
Also, who knows the legality of driving an unispected NY car with no front plate and a radar detctor in PA? I think im 2 out 3 there. |

In NY two plates are issued to each registered car, so, you need two plates. If you have out of state plates where only one plate is issued (ie FLA) then you should not be ticketed. |
Re: Overheating in the holland tunnel
You don't need a front plate in PA, only fag states require 2 plates

Re: Overheating in the holland tunnel
Radar detectors have always been looked down at around here.
Does Beaver County have emissions testing? We have a visual here in Butler county, yuri... |
Re: Overheating in the holland tunnel
I come from a fag state, sir.
91civic, hopefully Ill be in touch. |
Re: Overheating in the holland tunnel
turn your heat on full blast next time

Re: Overheating in the holland tunnel
Got a high cfm slim fan for that radiator yet?
Is the radiator cap something significant, or is it the faggot 0.9 or 1.1 bar OEM unit? Higher pressures allow coolant to take on more heat before boiling (forms air pockets in cooling jacket that prevent heat transfer). Are you running more than 20% antifreeze to water? Antifreeze sucks at cooling. |

Antifreeze sucks at cooling. Listen to this guy. High pressure allows you to run a lower water:antifreeze ratio without boiling over. Higher pressure increase the boiling point just like antifreeze raises the boiling point of the mixture, but by raising the pressure to raise the boiling point instead of adding antifreeze you get to have more water in the system which does a much better job at cooling. |
Re: Overheating in the holland tunnel
was it full of water when you stopped or is it losing water somehow?

Re: Overheating in the holland tunnel
I know NY and NJ both require 2 plates front and rear. Pa only requires one if the vehicel is registered in PA. If you're from NY or NJ and driving in PA with only the rear plate, prepare to get ass-fucked by the state police. Why not just register the car in PA if you're going to be going to school here? Where are ya going for school anyway? Seems to me that there's an awful lot of PA guys on HMT (of course no one close to my area :P)...maybe we could get some kinda get together at a central location for everyone before it gets toward the winter :X
