Default ------- overdraft fucked me.

so i went down to like 7 dollars two days ago in my debit account. i knew i was going to go under so i pulled out 60 from an atm and havent touched my account. suddenly im almost 200 in the hole. they charged me 33 dollars for going under. that should put my at around -90 in my account. ******* are ripping me off bad now. im gunna call them tomorrow when i wake up and yell and hopefully they will take off most thoe charges. i wanna get it straightened out just before i get paid so they dont deduct the money from my check.

just so you know being negative in the bank and not paying it is just like being late for a credit card payment, that ---- goes against your credit. you have to pay the fines regardless or you will go to collections. i would def try talking them down some but from experience they probably wont do much if anything for you.

+1

I worked at the call center for Washington Mutual for a year (before they closed my job and shipped it to Asia). Your best bet is to go into your local branch and ask to talk to the Manager. They will be the most likely person to be able to reverse those fees.

If you don't bring your account positive after about 30 days (depending on the bank), they'll close the account and send your debt to collections (IE: a big **** slap on your credit report).

No it doesn't.

You can go negative every single month and as long as it's brought back up to positive before it goes to collections(takes a few months)it will NEVER go on your credit report. No matter how shitty you are at managing your bank account it will NEVER go on your credit report. Obviously your bank might not want to give you a loan of any kind if they see how you are with your checking account, but any other bank will have no idea.

My bank will ---- you in the *** if you go negative.

Let's say you write a $100 check, a $600 check, and you use your debit card to make 5 seperate $5 transactions at the gas station. You have $500 in your bank account. Instead of clearing the 5 seperate $5 transactions and the $100 check, they will bounce the $600 check putting you in the negative by $100. Then they will bounce all 6 of the other transactions. So instead of getting one single $33 NSF fee they nail you with 7 of them for a total of $231. Banks are notorious for that ----. I learned to keep my account in the positive at all times.

EDIT: I guess you were talking about not EVER paying it. Yes, that will ---- your credit up once it hits collections and even if you pay it off at that point it will still make your credit look like ----.

Man speaks the truth, used to go sailing with some bank executive and he'd tell me all the ways banks made money off of you. Their motto is, you're going to ---- up, so we'll give you free checking, atm, all that ---- to draw you in... then ---- you in the *** with no lube once you slip up.
