Well I've been collecting some parts.
Pulled the trigger on a 1uz-fe. $647 shipped to my front door, including chopped harness, all sensors, intake and exhaust manis, starter, alternator. I have a boner for this thing soooooooo bad. Supposed to be here thursday.
Other cool stuff:
complete EDIS-8 coil pack ignition set up
1 x MegaSquirt II ECU kit v3.0
1 x MegaSquirt Relay Board kit
1 x MegaSquirt Stimulator kit
1 x 9 pin M-F serial cable, six foot
seats:

Awesome to see this project get rolling.It sounds like it will be killer when its done.You going to boost it or just run it NA for the mean time?What power level can the OE bottom end support?Keep the updates coming.

Ha, it's funny. On lextreme, megasquirt is "ghetto rig, why don't you save up the $2k for a REAL standalone"
On HMT, it's PIMP STATUS
I got the 1uz off Ebay. They are all over. It took me awhile to find one at the price I wanted to pay, with all the accessories and wiring and whatnot I needed.
The engine is strong. Lots of Aussies putting big numbers on stock bottom ends. I'm definitely going to boost it. HMT-style. I was going to keep it conservative, shooting for 400hp or so.
I'm trying to figure out what way to go for turbo/s. 2 60/63 T3s, or a single HX40 or something. I want to keep the budget at $500-600 for turbo/s. I gotta say, keep looking at that SSautocrap T70. :1
