Hell no, definatly not gutting it, im leaving it as stock as possible until i get the turbo set up finished on it. Then ill probably lower it and window tint. Ive got azenis on teh black one right now, so ill eventually swap them too.

Looks like just the lumbar section was redone but that rex must be the cleanest I've seen. Not even a speck of rust.

hotrex, what do you mean not stock bodywork? The only thing not original is the sunroof panel, and yes, that one side bolster. Whats weird, is the the bolster looks just liek teh rest of the seat until teh flash of the camera hits it. I couldnt tell unitl i saw the pic i took.

So when does a paint job classify as body work? ::)

Nice cars though man, I like the yellow one especially :D

hotrex 12-18-2004 02:54 PM

Re:Out with the old, In with the new! (56k, eh...)

if your gonna do a nice paint job like that, you are gonna do bodywork...i bet my turbo kit, there is body kfiller under that paint

Ravage70 12-18-2004 03:05 PM

Re:Out with the old, In with the new! (56k, eh...)

paint is the last part of body work

and hotrex is right a good paint job has putty underneath

I helped my neighbor rebuild an entire 56 chevy with 0 body filler. 100% frame off resto.

ohh yeah, did i mention it took best of show at the rock and roll hall of fame car show in 2000?

good paint jobs dont require body filler ;)

Ravage70 12-19-2004 01:12 PM

Re:Out with the old, In with the new! (56k, eh...)

well if ur gonna work on a car for 6 months then u dont need body filler

if u want ur car back next week then u do

hotrex 12-19-2004 09:39 PM

Re:Out with the old, In with the new! (56k, eh...)

no frank, but typical 14 yr old honda rust and daily driving dents do....that cars been worked if its been painted

y49crxsi 12-20-2004 11:13 PM

Re:Out with the old, In with the new! (56k, eh...)

Re:Out with the old, In with the new! (56k, eh...)

lol thats the dumbest bet ever.. of course there is body filler/ bondo under the paint .. for god sakes when i painted my bodykit i used a lil filler and it was a brand new kit from wings west... gurantee there was atleast a few dings in her

crxrx7 12-21-2004 12:03 AM

Re:Out with the old, In with the new! (56k, eh...)

Yes I am pretty sure off that. i work at a body shop and the amount of new cars that come in that get complete paint jobs is crazy. I am working on a brand new 2003 accord coupe and I am painting the whole thing. that cars been painted. And body filler.

Re:Out with the old, In with the new! (56k, eh...)

well, its the original color, can show you teh paint code in teh door jamb, i dont think its a 91, but thats what the dealer said, abd why would there be body filler everywhere else when theres a small ding in teh door that im gonna have to fill in. I plan on respraying it myself, so ill sand down some areas to see whats underneath.

hotrex 12-21-2004 01:25 AM

Re:Out with the old, In with the new! (56k, eh...)

dont even sand it down, just run a magnet over the car, the places where it doesnt stick means its bondo

easy way to tell if someone is tellin the truth when u go to lok at a car
