Default Noob question involving MSPAINT

So, when I use the free-form select to cut out a person from a photo, it works great while I still have that file opened. That is, the part i just cut out can be moved on its own to wherever. But when I copy it and paste it into a different picture, it puts them into a white box in the new photo. Is there a way i can bypass that or get rid of it? Cause it totally ruins it.

Thanks guys. I'm just trying to better my paint skills
