optimal tire size for a 16in wheel on a 5th gen accord

Just got some silver 16x7in RS Limited Concept Pro wheels for my 97 SE and need tires. Also just bought d2 coilovers so the ride will be lowered until i get 1 finger around.
What tire size would be best? i want the best of both worlds, looks and preformance...
Here are some of my possibilities (and there arent many 215 width tires that I can afford) :
- 205/40/16
- 205/45/16
- 205/50/16
- 225/45/16
- 225/50/16
- 225/55/16

And what tires do you guys like... i want a really sticky tire, but it also needs to last a while and be able to handle the rain. basically eliminating summer tires...
Looking at the pirelli pzero nero m+s all seasons, what do you guys think? suggestions?

Thanks!
- Drew

what's the stock size?

I would probably say 205/55/16. or you could do 205/50/16 for a 'lower' look. I would say 45 and 40's are way too small.

Cause your stock are what, 1xx/65/15's right? My advise, 205-55-16, to keep your rotational circumfrance the same, 50's and smaller, will make your spare bigger than your Concept Pro's

stock size, 185/65/15
why not 225?

well you could get 225's, they'll be a little thicker and usually cost more money.

What I would recommend:
205/55 or 50/16 either or, it wouldn't make too much difference, I would probably get the 50's just cause they are thinner.

225/45 or 50/16

You might wanna double check with what sizes your local tire shop would recommend just because.

PROPER size for a 16" rim would be 195/55R16. That will keep the speedo accurate.

but according to the miata.net tire calc, a 225/50/16 will only be off by .3%... remember, optimal size for performance

I wouldn't even trust putting 195/55/16 tires on some 16x7 rims. In my book that isn't 'safe'

Well motion, seems like you are set on the 225's, so grab yourself some 225/50's. I could tell you that I like the look of them on 16's.

don't get me wrong I really like the look of the wider tires, but I just don't think it's too practical for a Honda. If you could score some cheap 215/50/16's I'd do those, just for the little extra width.

Eh, for just driving, I like Falkens, both the ziex 512 and 502's. I think my next set of tires I might try out the Yokohoma es100. I think the Falkens are a great buy for the money, and the yoks aren't that expensive either.

You might need more opinions on tire types though, the application I use my tires for are very different from the majority of this site.
