opinions on dodge shadow turbo as beater and a pic from work you'll droll

I was considering buying a dodge shadow turbo from one of the mechanics I use to work with at tires plus, he says its in really good condition body wise and mechanically, I was wondering how well these respond to mild mods like complete exhaust turbo back, intercooler if they don't have it stock, boost controller maybe 2 to 3lbs up hopefully it won't blow up without some sort of tune or else an safc 2 or something oh yeah what if I bolt this thing on there.

stock 2.2 turbo dodges can take up to 20psi, and not hit detonation. find someone to recalculate the ECU and you're golden. 3" side exit exhaust, and a fmic = greatness.

so you work on ---- like that, yet you couldnt keep a t25 setup running in an accord... im confused.

reminds me of projekteg the master tuner, blowing up his own car 5 times. :-*

I don't tune it, the boss does, and I pretty much get stuck doing the crap no one else wants to do, like changeing out the fouled out plugs, hotrex I'm only 18 now well 19 in a week and have'nt gone to school yet, so I get stuck doing all the basic crap, I do get to work on these cars, sometimes the fun stuff but mainly the boring crap, but I still get to work around it and learn more about how it works, as I work. I'm probually the most annoying guy to work around there cause I try to figure out what everything does even if I'm not working on it. The shop just built a engine in a 05 gt and procharged it, just got the smaller pulley today, it should be on the dyno tomarrow I'm curious as to how much it will make my guess is atleast 500whp.

I just want a new daily driver, I'm still considering a 5.0 as the fun car but I don't know about insurance we called about my dad who has an insanely clean driving record on the new tiburon he wants to get and it would go up a good amount imagine me, my mom already told the insurance guy I race :1

if you're used to japanese cars, you're going to get really pissed off when you try to work on it. possably the worst designed engines ever.

I had to do a timming belt job on one, and a HG on another. They were N/A but holy ---- chrysler is retarded.

what I can remember:
to change the drive belt (not timing belt) driven waterpump, you must remove the timing coer
to remove the timing cover you must remove the AC compressor, alternator, and bracket
to remove the bracket you must remove the motor mount
lining up the timing marks is almost pure luck
distributor is driven by the timing belt of a seperate shaft and gear than the cam

chrysler turbo still makes more tq than any honda and most other forieghn 4 bangers. if your lucky and end up with a common block engine that would do over 400whp on stock internals.

Re: opinions on dodge shadow turbo as beater and a pic from work you'll droll

I'm not looking for anything insane, I want it to still be a reliable daily driver that I can do mad tyte jdm ebrake snowdrifting in and not worry about it blowing up. Maybe 20 to 30 hp over stock.

my friend has a shadow, but he's running a 2.5 bottom end. 3" turbo back, with FMIC, 2.5" IC piping. the thing is a goddamn torque monster... WHEN he's not replacing headgaskets.

those fiber things are ----.
