e-cutouts are pretty unreliable

Manual cutout will never fail on you

Hey funny how you brought that up? Are you interested in one of those E-Cutouts?? I actually had one lying around for like 5 years. I bought it off of ebay for like some rediculouse amount of money... I'm guessing somewhere around $85. Yeah, I was stupid for paying that much. But ----, if you want it throw me a pm. I remembered seeing it in my basement a few weeks ago.

I would prefer the manual. Three wing nuts are gonna be good to go at the track. Unless you wanna be some tricky bitch and use it on the streets.

Re: open downpipe switcher

Im just going to end up going with the three inch diameter catback. I checked out my exhaust the other day and the guy took off the cat, put a rice exhaust and called it a day. I figured if I had my stock cat, and a stock can I would just do a e cutout with a sidemount like I had before and do it that way. Doing it like I was thinking with the e-cutout would be worthless. And m0ney, you should sell yours back on ebay. Some guy is selling the ---- out of them for 165 or so. It wouldent be hard to get rid of it.

Re: open downpipe switcher

There is also one out there that is boost activated. It have an internal wastegate style actuator that opens the cutout under boost. I think ATP makes it.

Not really, I see all sorts of other people's enginuity and recycle it.

Just stick the damn thing at the end of the exhaust so it doesn't get hot and become sticky, and run 1/4" steel tube for the pressure signal.

Thats a great statement.

It's the simple truth, dude. I can't lie about it.

Welcome to engineering - it's 70% theory that you didn't come up with, and a big bag of tricks from spending your 30% of real world application in the company of hardcore pipe hitting ----------ers.

Every so often I pull off something uniquely JD and totally badass, if I do say so myself. Those things account for 0.7% of my total mojo. ;)
