One messed up d series.

I recently aquired a d16a6 motor for free practically, and when I took it apart today I found out its a good thing I didn't pay much for it at all.

One of the rods was snapped in half, and had blown a hole through the side of the block and left shavings everywhere in the pan. The piston tops had excessive carbon build up on them.

What I don't understand is every single exhaust side valve top is powder white, and every single intake valve top is coated in black grime and carbon. What causes that?

Also, when i tipped the block upside down to get the remaining coolant and oil to drip out of it, along with the oil residue and green antifreeze came quite a bit of somewhat vibrant red fluid, looked like auto tranny or certain brake fluids can look. What could be a reason for that besides someone purposely pouring something wrong into the motor?

The other wierd thing with this motor is that the intake manifold and its runners are all grimey inside, but the intake ports on the block look fairly clean. Somone probably switched intake manifolds with this motor being pulled and a new one that was going in before i got a hold of it, but the gasket seemed pretty glued on to me...odd.

The only thing that I saved from the motor already stripped pretty well, was the oil pan in perfect shape, the intake manifold and its tps and iacv tb etc., the fuel rail, the head (probably should throw out, but besides the valves it looks fine), and the the valvcover. Im making a post in for sale if any of you guys want any of it, or have a special request.

Any input on what the cause for those things I described would be cool for the sake of curiosity.

Did you not notice the rod sticking out of the block? ???

What part of the block has intake ports? :P

I paid 10 bux, I didn't see the hole in the block loading it up cuz it was covered by the pcv ----, I made the deal without seeing the motor, I knew it might be fucked but didn't care since it was a person I knew who basically said "the motor doesn't work". The only reason Im posting is to see if you guys have seen motors with one row of all white exhaust valves, and one of fully blackened intakes, as well as clear red fluid mixed with the oil ever.
