An apology? Who do they think is going to give black people an apology for slavery? There is not a person alive today that had a thing to do with slavery from over 100 years ago. From wikipedia - "The passage of the Thirteenth Amendment in 1865 officially ended slavery". 1865? Slavery ended one hundred and forty one years ago? Do you know of anyone still alive on the f'n planet who owned slaves over 141 years ago? Those are the only people who could give an apology, becuase they are the only people on the planet who could have owned slaves!

This is how I look at it. If someone kidnapped one of my kids, and held them hostage for 50 years, would I want an apologiy some fifty years later from the kidnapper's son? An apology for their father's actions, when they had nothing to do with it? Hell no! What a waste! The only person who could apologize for a wrongdoing, is the person who did the wrong. From anyone else, it's just empty words. It also wouldn't do any good for that kidnapper's son to apologize 150 years later to my kid's grandkids! They never experienced slavery, so what is the point. I agree with the politician, get over it.

In the interest of fairness.... If anyone can go out and find a person who in their lifetime owned a slave, I fully support having that person apologize to any slaves that they personally owned. All this other stuff is complete political bullshit.

Dont know about any of yall but Ive never seen a slave, dont know anybody who has. So what am I apologizing for? I'm not going to start apologizing for ---- my pops did during the 70's so why should we worry with ---- so far in the past. Is't this kind of like putting a bandaid on a 100 year old scar? what the ---- is the point?
