You should'nt retard your base timing to avoid detonation. You only want to pull it back when in boost. Otherwise your car will feel like a complete dog on the bottom end, and you bitches complain about low compression making the car feel slow on the bottom end. Fucked spark timing has a much bigger effect on the bottom end than dropping the compression a bit.

yes i have pics.....here's the link... http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=3463520093 ...its old from when i origanilly put the turbo on so alot of little things are fixed like the lower charge pipe bend is now smooth and the oil lines are cleaned up, plus the o2 sensor wires are cleaned up and i now have a dsm stock turbo manifold heat shield so it looks a tad cleaner now!

wait a sec, i think that you can lower the boost more than the stock waste gate allows. thats not true?

No, you cannot lower actuator settings with a boost controler.

a boost controller is made to higher the boost not lower it. If your max box is at 8 psi like a t25 from a gs-t the boost controller will only go higher than 8 psi. Thats why the gs-t is at 12 psi only because of its electronic boost controller.
